All the engineering discipline candidates (with or without GATE score) are requested to fill online application through this website only.
GATE cut-off score for all the engineering disciplines (except 'Civil') is 330 . A candidate, having GATE score 330 or more, should apply directly. He is not required to appear in written examination , therefore, there is no need to select any 'examination centre' while filling application.

This advertisement is in continuation of advertisement No. OCES/DGFS-2008 published in December 2007 for the selection of Trainee Scientific Officers (TSOs) in ‘Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) Training Schools' (BARC-Mumbai, Nuclear Training Centres-Kaiga, Kalpakkam, Kudankulam, Rawatbhata & Tarapur, ‘Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology-RRCAT-Indore’, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research-IGCAR-Kalpakkam and Nuclear Fuel Complex-NFC-Hyderabad & Heavy Water Board-HWB).
This advertisement provides the details for the all-India Written Examination in seven engineering disciplines, namely, Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science and Instrumentation to shortlist candidates, for selection interview to BARC Training Schools. In case the candidates who applied with GATE Score against the earlier advertisement, wish to appear for the written examination, they should revisit the website and fill up the relevant information.
The all India written examination will be held on May 25, 2008. The written examination will be conducted in following eighteen cities: Bangalore (Karnataka), Bhubaneshwar (Orissa), Chandigarh (Punjab/Haryana), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) New Delhi (Delhi), Gandhinagar (Gujrat), Guwahati (Assam) Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh), Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Jaipur (Rajasthan) Kolkata (West Bengal), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Roorkee (Uttarkhand) Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) and Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) The written test would be objective type and purely discipline specific. How to Apply
A candidate has to apply through online data-filled-net-form available at this website. It is mandatory to furnish all relevant information (such as percentage of marks, bank draft details, GATE details, email address, contact telephone number etc.) in ‘data-filled-net-form’ and hence such information should be kept handy before accessing the website for applying online. It shall be the candidates’ responsibility to enter accurate and complete data besides ensuring its correctness. Two copies of the printout of the ‘data-filled-net-form’ on 210x297 mm (A4) size paper duly signed, with photograph pasted, must be sent with other enclosures by Registered post / Speed post. An additional copy is to be retained as admit card. Application forms without signature and photograph will not be accepted. The application status and other recruitment related information can be checked on the website. It may be noted that only those candidates, whose physical application forms are received within the due date will be permitted to appear for the written test. The admit card and a document in support of proof of identity, shall be brought to the examination centre.

Non-refundable Application Processing Fee
Application processing fee for ‘General’ and ‘OBC’ candidates is Rs.100/- (one hundred) for online application. There is no application processing fee for SC, ST, DODPKIA and physically disabled candidates. Application processing fee is to be paid by a crossed Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of Accounts Officer, BARC, payable at Mumbai. Application number and name are to be indicated at the back of the DD. Receipt and photocopy of DD are to be retained by the candidates.

Two copies of ‘data-filled-net-form’ with original signature and photograph pasted, Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.100/- as applicable, SC/ST/OBC/DODPKIA certificate as applicable, Photocopy of disability certificate as applicable,Photocopies of marksheets in support of meeting the qualification criteria, GATE details as applicable.
